Wagmatcook green thumb hopes community garden leads to healthier diets

WAGMATCOOK, N.S. — Wagmatcook First Nation’s community gardens are in full bloom thanks to the dedication of Judy Googoo and her team.

The initiative started three years ago and Googoo hopes it changes the way people eat.

“There are so many people with diabetes, heart disease and cancer, and I think it’s all related to diet,” said Googoo, 63.

“I’m trying to re-introduce them to healthy foods.” Full story here.
